'I think this wedding involved the most steps I’ve ever completed at a wedding, more on that later.
A beautiful August morning saw an early start at Seckford Hall and then a relocation to Woodhall Manor where the wedding of Fran and Jo would take place.
Usually I only get one of the bridal party in a same sex wedding but this one was special as we got to meet both the brides, I enjoyed meeting them at their joint trial at my studio and hearing about their beautiful family and their upcoming wedding. It was a slightly unusual trial as they couldn’t tell me about dresses and hair they were keeping this a secret from each other
Jo a self-confessed tomboy isn’t a makeup person, I’m glad to say I have helped turn this table which involved recommend products for her birthday including my absolute favourite award winning eye masks which I like to use on my brides at their trial and on the day to help reduce puffy, congested eyes normally from that lack of sleep with the pre wedding nervous energy. https://miicosmetics.com/product/bright-eyed-hydrogel-mask/
Jo’s makeup I kept relatively simple as she wasn’t use to wearing much, Nars light reflecting foundation is a good cover but a light dewy look so it doesn’t feel like it’s wearing you. Eyes were my favourite Charlotte Tilbury palette Exagger-eyes simple rose gold colours and Runway Ready lipstick. She embraced wearing individual lashes which makes my heart smile, I’m such a lash queen.
Fran use to wearing makeup and a complete girly girl at heart went a little heavier in the eyes, similar colour palette using Bobbi Brown eyeshadow and black eyeliner, lashes and Pillow Talk lipstick this is a real bridal favourite. Working with Lynnette is always a treat for me, a) she’s a great friend and b) I know that the day will run smoothly with timings and the hair will be stunning her attention to detail is simply magnificent (I’ve seen her making sure everything is level and all pins are hidden. and c) it usually involves a lunch date after (woohoo) this one was at the Ufford Crown http://www.theuffordcrown.com/ fantastic food much needed after a busy morning. I might have washed mine down with a gin.
The dresses were a massive surprise especially Jo from the way she describes herself as not being girly at all I had thought it would be very simple and with no lace or embellishment, her beautiful dress was completely girly and as you expect a dress to look which came from https://www.ameliaandalicebridal.co.uk/ Fran had a simply elegant empire gown that she added a lace overlay to from that looked simple but so stunning https://jadorebridalwear.co.uk/
So back to the stairs, due to the girls getting ready separately and kept apart it involved Lynnette and I running up two floors (that’s a lot of stairs) from the secret room downstairs to the beautiful bedroom at the top of the manor. I have never moved my kit so much in one day but it was worth every second to be a part of these ladies wedding day.
